Subscriptions Manager

Privacy Policy

Subscriptions Manager runs entirely on your device. There is no account, no server, and no analytics.

The short version. Your bank alerts are read and parsed on your phone. Nothing about your spending is transmitted to the developer or to anyone else, because there is nowhere for it to be transmitted to — the app has no backend.

Two versions of this app

What the app can read depends on which version you installed. This policy covers both.

Play Store

Store version

Does not request SMS permissions and contains no SMS-reading code. Detects charges from bank notifications, alerts you paste in, and manual entry.

Direct install

Full version

Additionally reads bank SMS on Android, with your explicit permission, to find recurring charges automatically.

On iOS, neither version can read your Messages inbox — Apple does not permit it. Alerts reach the app only when you supply them through the Shortcut, paste them, or enter a subscription by hand.

What the app processes

Depending on the version you installed and the permissions you grant, the app may process:

Messages that do not look financial are discarded in the native layer before they ever reach the rest of the app. They are not stored, counted, or examined further.

Where it is stored, and for how long

Raw alert text is held briefly in the app's private pending queue while it is parsed, then cleared. Full message bodies are not retained in the durable store.

What persists is the parsed result — merchant, amount, currency, date, source, and optional last four digits — plus the subscriptions you confirm. These stay in the operating system's application sandbox until you delete them individually, erase all app data from Settings, or uninstall the app.

Export copies your subscription list to the system clipboard, at your request and only then.

Sharing and network use

The app has no backend, no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, no bank-linking provider, and no cloud synchronisation. It does not sell or share your data. Renewal reminders are scheduled locally by the operating system and upload nothing.

The app never asks for your bank username, password, or one-time codes, and it cannot move money.

Permissions

Every one of these is optional. Decline them all and the app still works through paste and manual entry.

Your controls

Security scope

Your records are protected by the Android or iOS application sandbox. This version does not yet add a separate encrypted database or a biometric app lock, and we would rather say so than imply protection that is not there.

Outside what the app itself can protect: a compromised, rooted, or jailbroken device; operating-system backups; and anything that reads your clipboard after you use Export.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly process their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially — particularly if any analytics, sync, or account service is ever added — the updated policy will be posted here with a new date, and the change will be described in the app's release notes.
